Linkedin is mostly AI-generated (already)

A new analysis estimates that over half of longer English-language posts on LinkedIn are AI-generated

What does this mean for content creators? Is there an alternative to embracing AI completely?

It means amplification for smart content creators, those who are actually the creators of the content, rather than scribes of others who are the creators of content. And embracing AI will be fundamentally necessary if the content one creates is to have any reach. My two cents worth.

The fascinating thing about this for me, is that the more AI generated content becomes prolific - the more I crave more human content. I don’t have an issue with AI being part of the workflow, as I use it myself, but what’s been resonating for me are real emotions, real stories from real humans.

Sure, most folks don’t expect to go to a professional social network platform for vulnerable posts, etc. but let’s be real - If I want to solve a specific problem in my work I’m going to Perplexity, or Google or youtube or my trusted professional community first. I’m not searching for it on social media.

I know some creators are starting up “Anti-AI” alliances and whatnot, but I’m unsure how successful those will be.

To me it’s simple. It’s a question of “signal to noise” on whatever platform I’m using for whatever purpose it’s designed for. In the case of LinkedIn, for me it is keeping abreast of developments in the industry and my professional circle relevant to my interests. Like you I certainly do not use it to learn things I’m specifically focused on.

If my business was creating engaging human generated content on LinkedIn, I think I would be looking to pivot my business.
