The demo is a bit misleading with all the steps he fast forwards through; setting up a Stripe and Supabase environment, even for localdev, is a bit more involved than he showed.
But not to take away from Claude; who knows how to write CLI commands to do all that setup. And I agree that Claude 3.7 is much more capable of doing such things effectively.
Setting up the “Run Command” tool in Beyond Better allows Claude to automate that whole process. I know, because I’ve just started a new project for a client, using Supabase and Stripe (& Deno Deploy). Claude knows how to drive all those via CLI. The project is a 6 month effort using the old tools; I’ve told the client they can have it in 6 weeks - that’s how confident I am that Claude can make me that much more productive.
Watching that video, I realize why I struggle to create marketing content; my ethics don’t allow me to mislead people to that extent. I’ve created “honest” videos before, and no wonder they don’t get traction; people don’t like the reality of the actual effort involved; even if it’s only 10% of the previous effort required.
